Inferno

In the work »Inferno« – inspired by „The Myth of Sisyphus“ by Albert Camus - I examine the absurdity
of people‘s quest to find the meaning of life in a senseless world. This work is about becoming aware of
the absurdity of this pursuit and about demonstrating myself and others the senselessness of the human
desire to find sense of life in life with no sense.

To convey this philosophical message, I used everyday objects to create an absurd collection.
Each item represents a different stage of life and contains an illustration of a human being distorted by the
daily struggel of nonsense. They are also tagged with statements about the everyday senselessness.

To present the collection I created a showroom which guides the visitor through the circle of life to trigger a
cognitive process. The showroom is provided with texts and large-scale illustrations to emphasize the human
character and my personal perspective on an absurd world.
